MARY H. BRITT

Mary H. Britt, of the 800 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., died Sept. 1, 1996, in a local hospital.

Born in Princess Anne Co., Va., she was the widow of William Henry Britt. She was a retired housekeeper for Norfolk General Hospital. She was a member of Macedonia Holiness Church, Norfolk, and Mother of the church.

Survivors include seven daughters, Jean Phillips, Bernice Holland, Martha Lacey, Yvonne Harden, Vicki Whitter, all of Norfolk, Diane Brown, Shirley Britt of Chesapeake; three sons, William H. Britt Jr. of Chesapeake, Richard Britt of Washington, D.C., Andrew L. Britt of Norfolk; a sister, Bertha Johnson of Norfolk; two brothers, Bennie Hudgins of Norfolk, Floyd Hudgins of Virginia Beach; 38 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Macedonia Holiness Church by Pastor Hazel Andrew. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery. There will be a wake service at Graves Funeral Home Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The family will assemble at 901 E. Indian River Road the day of the service. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
