Sudie Butler Franklin, dear sister and aunt, 86, of the 3900 block of Llewellyn Ave. died Sept. 1, 1996, in a local hospital.
Born in Isle of Wight Co., Va., she was the widow of Wesley W. ``Bill'' Franklin. She was one of the first female bus operators for Virginia Transit Co. (TRT) and retired after 29 years service. She was a lifetime member of Amalgamated Transit Union, Local (NU)1177, for over 50 years.
Survivors include two sisters, Christine B. Ross and Mary L. Scalzi of Norfolk; several nieces and nephews, including Ann P. Galano and Cherolee E. Ross of Norfolk; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews. ``We love you and will miss you.''
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Evelyn Puckett. Family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel.
