Minnie B. Viar, 98, died Sept. 2, 1996, in a nursing home.
Born in Windsor, Va., she was the widow of John Wesley Viar.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura V. McClure of Norfolk; a son, John R. Viar Sr. of Winter Haven, Fla.; a grandson, John R. Viar Jr. of Marshall, N.C.; and a great-grandson, John R. Viar III of Zebulon, N.C.
A private burial will be at a later date. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
