Joseph C. ``Joe'' Pope, 49, of the 8400 block of Jane Way died Sept. 2, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
A native of Norfolk, Mr. Pope was retired. He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church and was a very active member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge (NU)39.
Survivors include his mother, Katherine V. Pope of Norfolk; a brother, John Pope and his wife, Norma Jean, of Virginia Beach; a niece, Kristin Pope; two nephews, Shannon Pope, Brennon Pope, all of Virginia Beach; and long-time companion, Jackie Jones.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, and also at other times at his brother John's home, 848 St. James Dr., Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
