Joseph C. ``Joe'' Pope, 49, of the 8400 block of Jane Way died Sept. 2, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
A native of Norfolk, Mr. Pope was retired. He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church and was a very active member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge (NU)39.
Survivors include his mother, Katherine V. Pope of Norfolk; a brother, John Pope and his wife, Norma Jean, of Virginia Beach; a niece, Kristin Pope; two nephews, Shannon Pope, Brennon Pope, all of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at his brother John's home, 848 St. James Dr., Virginia Beach. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
