The Rev. James William Jordan, 72, of 9 Harrower Court, died Sept. 2, 1996, in Henderson, N.C.
Born in Edenton, N.C., he was a retired Pentecostal Holiness minister and a missionary in Botswana, South Africa. He had pastored many Tidewater-area churches through the years.
He is survived by his wife, Donnie B. Jordan; two sons, Timothy G. Jordan of Winston-Salem, N.C., Jonathan W. Jordan of Portsmouth; two sisters, Elizabeth J. Bailey of Gordonsville, Va., Clara Mae J. Busby of Quinton, Va.; three grandchildren, Scott Randall, Timothy Adam, Sara Catherine. He was the son of the late John A. and Nancy Spruill Jordan.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in First Pentecostal Holiness Church by Dr. Phillip Morris. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
