Milton S. Slade, 75, of the 500 block of Ruffner St., died Sept. 1, 1996.
He was a native of Warrenton, N.C., and was the widower of Vivian Slade. He was a crater-packer for Norfolk Naval Supply Center and retired after 30 years of service.
Survivors include two daughters, Louvinia Richardson of Jersey City, N.J., Delores Scott of Hoboken, N.J.; a brother, Marshall Slade of Jamaica, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, among them Mae F. Eley.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Pleasant Shade Cemetery. Viewing will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. in Riddick Funeral Service. There will be a wake at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. today.
