JAMES B. HAWKINS

James Blair Hawkins, 94, of the 1600 block of Bolling Ave., died Sept. 4, in Norfolk.

Mr. Hawkins was born in Clifton Forge, Va. He was the widower of Marjorie Frame Hawkins. He was a graduate of the 1925 class of Virginia Polytechnical Institute. He was a retired vice president of the Eastern Division of Virginia Power Co.

Mr. Hawkins was a member and past board member of First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk. He was a member of Norfolk Yacht and Country Club, Norfolk Sports Club and the Norfolk Kiwanis Club. He was very active in the United Way of Tidewater, Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, the Norfolk General and the Leigh Memorial Hospitals.

Survivors include a son, William Frame Hawkins and his wife, Susan of Roanoke, Va.; two granddaughters, Susan Blair Hawkins and Anne Stuart Hawkins both of Roanoke; a nephew, Robert Preston Hawkins III of Hilton Head, S.C.; and a niece, Ruth Hawkins Maloney of Waynesboro.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk by Dr. J. Shepherd Russell. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Mountain View Cemetery by the Rev. William Moore in Clifton Forge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
