Evelyn F. Midgett, 84, of the 12000 block of Waterford Circle, died Sept. 3, 1996, in her residence.
She was born in Manns Harbor, N.C., and was a member of Haygood United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Norview Chapter (NU)213, and was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer V. Midgett for 70 years; a son, Edward F. Midgett of Cape Coral, Fla.; five grandchildren, Elmer V. Midgett III of Bermuda, Michael E. Midgett of Portsmouth, Edward F. Midgett Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Debbra Midgett of Cape Coral, Betsi Griffith of Bermuda; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a son, Elmer V. Midgett Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Allen G. Reifsynder in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Haygood United Methodist Church, 4713 Haygood Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23455.
