Preston J. ``P.J.'' Hall, 69, of the 1100 block of Horne Ave., died Sept. 3, 1996, in Naval Regional Medical Center, Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
Born in Cofield, N.C., he was aU.S. Marine veteran and retired after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was a former member of Philippi Baptist Church, Cofield.
Survivors include his daughter, Gail T. Hall of Portsmouth; a stepson, James Williams of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mary Alice Boone and Armittia H. Pugh, both of Portsmouth; two brothers, Vance E. Hall of Jamaica, N.Y., Matthew Hall Jr. of Cofield; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday in Philippi Baptist Church, Cofield, by the Rev. Elton Hall Jr., Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. today. The family will be at the funeral home from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today. Family and friends will assemble at 1126 Horne Ave., Portsmouth, at 10:30 a.m. Friday for a procession to the Cofield.
