A 41-year-old woman was found shot in her residence Wednesday night in the 800 block of Charlotte St. and died a short time later, police said.
Gloria Brown was found at 7:10 p.m. and died at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital at 7:45 p.m.
Police said they are looking for Johnnie Beasley, 30, who is believed to live in the Brambleton section. Warrants have been filed charging him with murder and using a gun while committing a felony. The motive for the killing was not clear.
