Construction is scheduled to begin Monday on the widening of U.S. Highway 158 from two to three lanes in Camden.
The expansion will begin at the railroad crossing near Morrisette's Road and continue for about 1,000 feet toward N.C. Highway 343.
During the next several weeks, lanes will shift temporarily and closings will be necessary, causing traffic delays, according to the state Department of Transportation.
