RALPH E. PRESTON

Ralph E. Preston, 66, of the 200 block of Sandpiper Drive, died Sept. 5, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Born in Galesburg, Ill., he was a retired office equipment technician for Oce Bruning Company. He was a member of Tidal Wave Masonic Lodge (NU)273, A.F. & A.M., Khedive Temple of the Shrine. Mr. Preston was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Janice M. Preston; a stepdaughter, Theresa L. Bohnstedt of Virginia Beach; two stepsons, Walter D. Bray, John R. Bray, both of Chesapeake; two sisters, Audrey Anderson of Oquawhy, Ill., Wanda Whitsell of Bartsonville, Ill.; a brother, William Preston of Galesburg; and three step-granddaughters.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. T.M. Frye. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Masonic rites will be accorded at the grave.
