FLOYD OWENS

Charles Floyd Owens, 79, of 301 Magnolia St., died Sept. 5, 1996 at his home.

Mr. Owens was born in Portsmouth and was the son of the late Joseph L. and Louise Deans Owens. He had retired as a vendor with Cavalier Vending of Suffolk after 26 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Audree Marie Smith (Owens); three daughters, Shirley Owens Byrd of Portsmouth, Charlene Owens Brewer and Terri Owens Guynn of Norfolk; three sons, Linwood F. Owens of Norfolk, Carlton W. Owens Sr. of Suffolk and Joseph C. Owens of Chesapeake; a sister, Beatrice T. Bishop of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; and four stepchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Claire Wagner Owens.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. Ira Hudgins. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
