Ralph Frederick Myers, 70, of the 1500 block of Campostella Road, died Friday, Sept. 6, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Myers was born in Doans, Ind., and was the son of the late Ralph Waldo and Martha Kidd Myers. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Kristy Ann Myers. Mr. Myers retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service and was also a retired civil service fire fighter with Craney Island Supply Depot, Norfolk. He was a member of the Salisbury Masonic Lodge (NU)411, Salisbury, Ind., and was also a member of the Police Association of Virginia, Chapter (NU)869.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Pyne Myers; two daughters, Linda M. Payton and Janet M. Renshaw, both of Chesapeake; a son, Ronnie S. Myers of Gloucester, Va.; three sisters, Lillian Ferguson of Sheridan, Ind., Martha Wright and Dorothy Matlock, both of Bloomington, Ind.; a brother, Robert F. Myers of Bloomfield, Ind.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral with masonic rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Hampton National Cemetery, Hampton. Viewing will begin on Monday with the family receiving friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
