Sarah Christine Hagwood, 78, of the 300 block of Harmon St. died Sept. 6, 1996, in Brian Center Health and Retirement, Windsor, N.C.
She was born in Bertie County, N.C., and was the widow of Edgar Leonard Hagwood. She had retired as a machine operator from Ahoskie Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Creech Memorial Baptist Church, Ahoskie, N.C.
She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Mizelle of Windsor, Jean Griffin of Ketchikan, Ark., Carolyn Futrell of Oxford, N.C.; two sons, Robert Drew of Falkland, N.C., Milton Drew of Jackson, N.C.; a sister, Annie Laura Griffith of Como, N.C.; a brother, Henry Casper of Silver Spring, Md.; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Felix A. Futrell. Burial will be in Aulander Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and at other times at the home of Dorothy Mizelle, 438 Pocosin Road, Windsor.
