David Elijah Chipley, 47, of the 900 block of Sea Breeze Court, died Sept. 3, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Born in Erie, Penn., Mr. Chipley was a lay counselor and a member of Lindale Christian Church. Also he was a U.S. Naval Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Laura M. Chipley; a daughter, Andrea Chipley of Cardiff, Calif.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elijah M. Chipley of Greenfield, Penn.; three sisters and their husbands, Julie and Neal Proper, Brenda and Monk Bane, Carol and Joe Kuchcinski, all of Pennsylvania; 10 nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in Lindale Christian Church by the Rev. David Vaughan. Burial will be private. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lindale Christian Church.
