Local police are seeking public assistance in solving these cases:
VIRGINIA BEACH
On Aug. 30 at 4 p.m., the First Virginia Bank branch in the 3100 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. at Kings Grant Road, was robbed.
The suspect is described as black, in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 185 pounds with a muscular build.
He had a mustache, short black hair and was wearing a light-blue, long-sleeve shirt, faded jeans, a black baseball cap with a symbol on the front and sunglasses.
SUFFOLK
On Aug. 8, a Chanello's Pizza driver was robbed while making a delivery in the 400 block of Johnson Ave.
He had two pizzas when he arrived and was approached by two men. One of the suspects sprayed a chemical in the driver's face, snatched the pizzas and ran.
The suspects are described as black and were wearing T-shirts and jeans.
NORFOLK
On Aug. 21, just before 4 a.m., a man entered the 7-Eleven store in the 9600 block of Shore Drive.
He approached a clerk, implied he had a gun and demanded money from the register. He fled the store after the clerk gave him the money.
The suspect, who is known to frequent the Ocean View area, is described as black with a dark complexion, 30, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 175 pounds with a medium build and short hair.
He was unshaven and wore a white T-shirt and dark pants.
On Aug. 19 at 7:15 a.m., two police officers saw a stolen car at the intersection of Pleasant Avenue and Shore Drive.
Officer Mark Hallenbeck tried to remove the driver from the car, but the driver sped off with the policeman clinging to the vehicle.
The officer was flung against a street sign and eventually fell from the car. Later, the driver crashed the car into a home in the 4700 block of Pleasant Ave.
Hallenbeck was hospitalized.
The suspect is described as black, in his early 20s, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 140 pounds. He was well groomed and goes by the nickname ``Powerful.'' He usually wears a gold herringbone chain with a medallion of a scorpion on it.
HAMPTON
Police are searching for a man who robbed two cleaning stores on Kecoughtan Road in the Wythe area.
In July, the Fashion Care Cleaners was robbed and in August the same suspect robbed the Wythe Cleaners.
In both cases, he pretended to be checking on a piece of clothing and then robbed clerks.
The suspect is described as black, in his 20s or 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and had a stocky build. He has unusual eyes, which are possibly light brown. by CNB
