V. Bryan Smith, 100, of the 800 block of Wilbur Ave., died Sept. 7, 1996 in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Smith was born in the Berkley section of Norfolk and was the widower of Theresa Hollowell Smith. He was retired from American Oil Co. and was a member of Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church; South Norfolk Masonic Lodge (NU)339; Ionic Royal Arch Chapter (NU)46; Grice Commandery (NU)16; Khedive Temple of the Shrine; and was former chairman of the Draft Board in South Norfolk. He was an Army veteran of World War I and served with the American Expeditionary Forces in France.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. John Andrews. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
