NATHANIEL ALSTON JR.

Nathaniel Alston Jr., 87, of the 800 block of Scott St., died Sept. 5, 1996, at his residence.

Mr. Alston was retired from the Naval Air Station as a painter after 36 years. He was a member, usher, deacon and Sunday School teacher at Third Baptist Church and was a member of the Ushers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Alston; eight nieces; four nephews; and two godchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Third Baptist Church by the Rev. Joe B. Fleming. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
