Joseph Moore, 65, of the 1100 block of Ewell Road, died Sept. 7, 1996, in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Moore was born in Lebanon, Pa., and was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He was retired from the Navy as a chief warrant officer and was also retired from NationsBank as assistant vice president. He was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam; a member of Knights of Columbus Father Habets Council (NU)4632; very active in Mended Hearts; a volunteer at Bayside Hospital; and a member of Fleet Reserve Association and the Retired Officers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Doris I. Moore; a daughter, Patricia A. Moore of Virginia Beach; two sons, Samuel S. Moore of Goose Creek, S.C., and Richard M. Moore of Richmond; a sister, Carolyn D'Amore of Hershey, Pa.; a brother, Samuel J. Moore of Lebanon, Pa.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church by Fr. John Peck, OSB. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
