Sherita DaNae Jenkins, 12, of the 500 block of W. Second Ave., died Sept. 5, 1996, at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk after a short illness.
Sherita was a native of Washington, D.C., and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, 30188 Shiloh Road, Boykins, Va.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Dianne Avery-Jenkins Britt and W. Wayvle Britt Jr.; her father, Robert C. Jenkins; two brothers, James Anthony Avery Jr., 17, and Robert C. Jenkins Jr., 18; two sisters, Ivory Antoinette Avery, 20, and Giselle Wayvle Britt, 20 months-old.
A wake will be held today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Elvin Vaughn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Anthony Ferebee Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial will be in Southview Cemetary. Elvin Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
