Florence E. Thorbjornsen, 78, of the 9300 block of Sturgis St., died Sept. 9, 1996, in her residence.
Born in Bedford County, Va., she was a loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Thorbjornsen; four daughters, Connie Stermer of Martinsville, Va., Linda Reader of Winston-Salem, N.C., Norma Haynes of Baltimore, Deborah Griffin of Virginia Beach; three sons, Donald Crosswhite of Jackson, Miss., Melvin Thorbjornsen Jr. of Allenhurst, Ga., Ted Thorbjornsen of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Lucille Krietel and Rene Jess, both of Norfolk, Christine Williamson of Winston-Salem, N.C., Elizabeth Sweeney of Florida; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Steve Hay in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
