EDWARD R. WRIGHT

Edward Robert Wright, 39, of the 1200 block of Minden Road, died Sept. 9, 1996, in Norfolk.

Born in Portsmouth, he was a member of Catholic Church of St. Mark, Virginia Beach. He was formerly a computer programmer for the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Norfolk. He attended St. Matthews School in Virginia Beach, was a graduate of James Barry Robinson High School and attended Tidewater Community College.

He is survived by his mother, Joan Byrnes Wright of Virginia Beach; his father, Frederick Robert Wright of Manassas, Va.; a sister, Catherine Wright of Virginia Beach; three brothers, John Fred Wright and wife, Karen, of Tampa, Fla., David Wright of Stafford, Va., and Steven Wright and wife, Jina, of Virginia Beach; and two nephews, David Kristian Wright and Brandon Lee Wright, both of Virginia Beach.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday at 7 p.m. by Father Daniel N. Klem in Catholic Church of St. Mark, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Church, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Friends are invited to join the family at the church Thursday at 10 a.m. for prayers prior to going to Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery for committal services. The family requests that flowers be omitted and suggest that memorial donations may be made to Kidney Foundation or Catholic High School Scholarship Fund. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is in charge.
