Police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old man who died from a gunshot wound early Sunday morning.
Shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the 1200 block of Marshall Ave., near the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where they found the body of James Elmo Gilliam, who lived in that block.
Police said Monday that they do not know the motive for the shooting. They also did not say how or where exactly the body was found.
They asked that anyone with information to call Detective J. Murray at 393-8536 or Crime Line at 488-7777.
