Police are looking for two men who posed as police officers and sexually assaulted a woman in the 1500 block of Effingham St.

The woman told police she was using a pay phone Friday when she was approached by the suspects. They told her they were police officers, asked her to exit her vehicle and escorted her to a dark area near a building, where they assaulted her.

No weapons were seen or reported. The men left when another car approached, police said.

Both men were described as black and in their 30s. They were last seen wearing dark uniforms with brown patches and hats with colors on them.

One man was 5-foot-8, 190 pounds with light brown eyes and black hair. The other man was 5-foot-4, 155 pounds, with dark eyes and black hair.

They were driving dark, older model Fords that had blue lights in the rear windows, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 393-8536 or Crime Line at 488-7777.
