Marie Brinkley Jones, 84, died Sept. 8, 1996, at Evergreens Nursing Center.
A native of Corapeake, N.C., she was the wife of the late Robert L. Jones Sr. Mrs. Jones was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and its Faithful Workers Class.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert L. Jones Jr. of Marietta, Ga., Allen H. Jones of Greensboro; a sister, Dorothy B. White of Franklin, Va.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. George F. Mullinax. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
