NORFOLK ACADEMY LIKELY TO BE A TOP CONTENDER

Peninsula Catholic is once again the bet to win this year's TCIS boys cross country season, but the rest of the field could be up for grabs.

Norfolk Academy should be a top contender, losing only two of its seniors to graduation last year.

A look around the TCIS:

NORFOLK COLLEGIATE

Coach: Barbara Mathewson and Buddy Canady

Last year's record: not given

Key returners: Kevin Fields, David Repass, John Ferguson, Chris Pinkerton, and Sean Prince

Top newcomers: Ian Chapman and Matt Seymour

Analysis: This year should be a building year for the Oaks.

NORFOLK ACADEMY

Coach: Ken Lampert

Last year's record: 10-6

Key returners: Biren Roy, Stuart Rodgers, Andrew Dickenson, Ted Lambert, Zach Lambert and Michael Butts

Top newcomer: Tyler Jenson

Analysis: Norfolk Academy only lost two of its top 10 runners from last year. Roy was one of the area's top runners last fall.

NORFOLK CHRISTIAN

Coach: Tom Miesse

Last year's record: not given

Key returners: Brian Kish, David Watson, Jimmy Benson and Peter Turner

Key returners: Kirk Blanford, William Johnson, West Leggett, Stephen Putnam, Thomas Woodward and Stephen Taylor
