Ernest Roosevelt Wiggins, 65, of the 1500 block of Virginia St., died Sept. 10, 1996, in Norfolk General Hospital after a short illness.
He was a native of Baltimore and retired from Chock Full O' Nuts in Brooklyn, N.Y. after 38 years. He was a member of Hickory Grove A.M.E. Zion Church and the Trustee Board.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Council Hester Wiggins; mother, Bertha McRae; son, Terrence J. Wiggins of New York; two daughters, Brenda K. Taylor of New York and Marie K. Ford of Virginia; two brothers, Donald Wiggins of Florida and Robert Wiggins of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Annetta Dark of California; four grandchildren, seven stepchildren and 21 stepgrandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hickory Grove A.M.E.Z. with Rev. L.H. Burgess presiding. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge.
