Carolyn L. Gooden Terry, 54, of 35 Holly Hill Lane, died Sept. 10, 1996, in her home.
She recently retired from the Norfolk Department of Social Services after 20 years of service. Born in Portsmouth, she was a member of First Baptist Church, South Portsmouth, Portsmouth.
She is survived by her spouse, a son, three sisters, two brothers, an aunt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Warren E. Amlet in First Baptist Church, South Portsmouth, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing will be at Corprew Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 9 a.m. Saturday.
