A FOUR-STAR CEREMONY FOR GEHMAN

ILLUSTRATION: Harold W. Gehman Jr., right, was promoted from vice

admiral to admiral Wednesday at U.S. Atlantic Command headquarters

in Norfolk. Gehman gives his mother, Claire, below, a kiss after she

and his father, Harold Gehman Sr., pinned his fourth star on during

the ceremony. Gehman also is the new vice chief of naval operations,

the Navy's No. 2 man, replacing Adm. Jay L. Johnson, who became the

nation's top admiral.
