DAVE MATTHEWS BAND CANCELS NASHVILLE CONCERT

The Virginia-based Dave Matthews Band has canceled a concert for Wednesday night in Nashville, Tenn., because of the death of a band member's newborn daughter, the group's publicist announced.

Asian Mozelle, the 3-week-old daughter of bassist Stefan Lessard and wife Josie Baucom, died Wednesday morning in Woodstock, N.Y. She was the couple's only child. The cause of the death is unknown at this time, said spokeswoman Ambrosia Healy.

The band, led by singer and acoustic guitarist Dave Matthews, was promoting its hit album ``Crash'' on a 12-week tour.

The band, from Charlottesville, is reviewing whether to appear at planned concerts Friday in Kansas City. Mo., and Saturday in St. Louis.
