The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island has been awarded a $112,500 General Operating Support grant by the Institute of Museum Services last week.
There were 953 applications for the federal program and 192 awards were made totaling more than $15 million.
``We are particularly pleased with this grant,'' Aquarium Business Manager Dianne Tillett said. ``This grant will allow us to offer a number of programs and activities for our visitors and area residents that we could not do with this funding.'' by CNB
