I would like to suggest a new name for Chesapeake: Little Virginia Beach.
After watching the Chesapeake City Council vote for a new convention center, it seems the leadership of Chesapeake is trying to turn Chesapeake into Virginia Beach.
Now, I understand that most Chesapeake residents think they already live in Virginia Beach. All you have to consider is the terrible growth, crowded roads and taxes. After voting for this convention center by raising taxes, Chesapeake is going to get even more crowded.
I moved to Chespeake because it's not as crowded as Virginia Beach. I hope that the tax raisers like Mayor Ward and the rest of the Chesapeake City Council will remember to start controlling growth or watch us become Virginia Beach!
