WILLIAM K. GEORGE

William Keith George, 45, son the late William H. George and Arjanta Mansfield of Ohio, died Sept. 12, 1996, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Born in Steubenville, Ohio, he was a member of St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church. Mr. George was employed with the City of Virginia Beach Traffic Engineer Department for the past nine years. He was a former employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Munge Plant. He was a former member of the Wintersville Volunteer Fire Department and served as a city councilman in Wintersville, Ohio. He was a member of the Ohio Football and Basketball Referee Association. He was a former member of the Jefferson Sportsman Club and coached Wintersville Little League. He volunteered coaching athletics such as Special Olympics Volleyball and Chesapeake Girl's Basketball.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Kay George; a son, Stephan Scott George of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Cherie Ann Keyaiva of Illinois; his grandmother, Florence George of Ohio; a brother, Larry George, and a sister, Sheryl Idarmon, both of Ohio; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Services will be conducted Monday by the Rev. Doug George in Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Ohio. Mr. George will be sent to Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wintersville Volunteer Fire Department, 200 Crove St., Wintersville, Ohio 43952. Local arrangements are by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Kempsville Chapel.
