Daniel Leslie Baker, formerly of North Carolina, died Sept. 1, 1996, in a house fire that totally destroyed the family home.
Dan was a former manager of Michael's Restaurant in Edenton, N.C. and was a well-known chef.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Weeks Baker; five children, Danny, Bricie, Anna, Michael, all of Pennsylvania, and a daughter, Connie, of Oregon; his mother, Ruth Allen, of Pascagoula, Miss.; and a sister, Carolyn Mills, of West Chester, Pa. He was the son-in-law of Ted and Mimi Weeks of Holiday Island, Hertford, N.C.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College, Pa. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic School, 800 Westerly Parkway, State College, Pa. 16801. The school is collecting money for the Baker Children.
