EDNA S. ELAM

Edna S. Elam, 59, of the 400 block of Oaklette Drive, died Thursday Sept. 12, 1996.

Born in Whittier, N.C., she was a homemaker and retired practical nurse. Also she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, George M. Elam; a sister, Jean Barnes of Hickory, N.C.; two brothers, David Sawyer and James Sawyer, both of Asheville, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Daniel and Adam Hagan. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gail Elam Reckner and a son, David Elam.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Grace Lutheran Church by the Rev. William W. Boldin. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
