Asa Lee Kelly Jr., 46, of the 700 block of Broad St., died the morning of Friday, Sept. 13, 1996, in his residence.
A native of Portsmouth he was the first son of Asa Lee Kelly Sr. and Louise D. Kelly, both of Portsmouth. He was the husband of Cecilia E. Kelly. He was a nationally recognized audio engineer and producer and was the owner of Treetop Sound in Portsmouth. Mr. Kelly was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church and the Olive Branch Football Association. He was a 1968 graduate of Wilson High School.
Survivors also include a son, Asa Lee Kelly III of Portsmouth; two sisters, JoAnn Cole and family of Suffolk,and Beverly Weaver and family of Portsmouth; two brothers, Patrick John Kelly and family of Portsmouth, and Michael T. Kelly and family of Mechanicsville, Va.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Kathryn L. Pigg. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. We love you more than all the leaves on all the trees in the whole wide world.
