Rupert W. Everton, 65, of the 900 block of Eastern Shore Road, died Sept. 12, 1996.
Mr. Everton was born in Norfolk on Sept. 22, 1930. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces and was a veteran of Vietnam. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he was employed as a crane operator.
Survivors include his mother, Minnie Reid of Virginia Beach; three children, Pat Everton, Nancy McKinney and Carol Ament, all of Virginia Beach; a son-in-law, Mike McKinney of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Ray Everton and Wayne Hewitt, both of Virginia Beach; and six grandchildren. He was a beloved father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rosewood Memorial Park. Kellum Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
