Rocco Grillo, 89, of the 1000 block of Charity Drive, died Sept. 14, 1996.
Born in Portsmouth, he was a retired life insurance representative and professional musician. He was a member of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, a life member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter (NU)4 and member of Musician Union Local (NU)125.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Helen Grillo; three sons, Denis E. Grillo and his wife, Janet, of Virginia Beach; William M. Grillo and his wife, Fran, of Pottstown, Pa., Roger K. Grillo and his wife, Ruth, of Onancock, Va.; a brother, Samuel A. Grillo of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Tracy Colby of Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., William Grillo and Benjamin Grillo, both of Virginia Beach, Kate Grillo and Molly Grillo, both of Onancock, Susan Callanan of Alexandria, Va., Catherine Wood of Richmond, Va.; an uncle, Joseph Miller of Norfolk; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Larry C. Miles. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coleman Place Presbyterian Church building fund or the Salvation Army. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
