Gerald H. Gavard, doing business as Gavard Construction, filed Chapter 7 liquidation on Aug. 30 with assets of $113,176 and liablities of $185,692.11

Timothy Wade Stewart and Susan Terrill Stewart, Stewarts Fire Protection Service Inc. and Great Bridge Grooming & Pets By You Inc., filed Chapter 13 debt repayment plan on Sept. 3 with assets of $416,332.12 and liabilities of $384,816.53.

Norfolk Veneer Mills Inc. filed Chapter 11 reorganization on Sept. 3 with assets of $1,661,000 and liabilities of $1,892,000.

The Chapter 7 bankruptcy of Harold Wayne Barefoot, filed on Jan. 30, has been reopened.

Tidewater Construction Corp. in Norfolk received a $18 million contract for Norfolk International Terminal north expansion, phase II, part 5, Wharf construction in Norfolk.

Mid Eastern Builders in Chesapeake received a $4.9 million contract for a operations support facility for SOC-NSWG 2, NAB Little Creek in Virginia Beach.

Marshall Meredity Inc. in Norfolk received a $1.3 million for Edwards Wilson facility renovations in Chesapeake.

Hawk Construction Corp. in Virginia Beach received a $850,000 contract for a residential services building at Norfolk State University.

B&N Contracting Inc. in Newport News received a $244,375 contract and a $234,275 contract for concrete removal at various locations in Hampton.

A&W Contractors Inc. in Chesapeake received a $845,715 contract for Princess Anne Park sanitary sewer rehabilitation in Norfolk. by CNB
