Catherine Carawan, 64, of the 100 block of Montford Court, died Sept. 14, 1996.
Ms. Carawan was preceded in death by her parents, Rena P. and Thaxton B. Carawan, formerly of Pamlico County, N.C.
Survivors include her brothers, Jack D. Carawan, Reid H. Carawan, both of Norfolk, James C. Carawan of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Doris C. Davis and Edna C. Hicks, both of Virginia Beach; five nieces, Maureen H. Gardner of Allen, Texas, Jackie C. Lukei of Plano, Texas, Claudia Waters of Mount Olive, N.C., Kathy J. Carawan of Chesapeake and Vicky Gier of Beulaville, N.C.; and four nephews, Wayne C. Davis of Norfolk, Thomas B. Carawan of Woodbury, Minn., James R. Cook of San Marcos, Texas, and Dan Carawan of Salem, Va.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Carper at 2 p.m. today in the Rosewood Memorial Park in the Garden of the Prophets. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to At Home Hospice, 3386 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452 or to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, is in charge.
