Robert Lee Walker Sr., of the 1100 block of Clydesdale Lane and formerly of the 600 block of Reservoir Ave., died Sept. 13, 1996, in a local hospital.
Born in Norfolk, Mr. Walker was a driver for Tank Line Co. and a bagger for Norfolk Naval Exchange Commissary. Educated in the Norfolk school system, he was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley D. Russell of Meridian, Miss.; a son, Robert Lee Walker Jr. of Norfolk; a sister, Shirley A. W. Cabarras of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Rynard S. Walker, Shaunita L. Walker, both of Meridian; a nephew, Pvt. Torri L. Cabarras, and his wife, Shameika L. Cabarras, and family of Fort Polk, La.; also a niece, Tonya Cabarras of Virginia Beach; a great-nephew; two aunts; two uncles; his former wife, Brenda E. Walker; a son-in-law; a former brother-in-law, Donnell Cabarras; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary S. Walker, and father, James Walker.
A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Mount Carmel Baptist Church by the Rev. Clarence Russell. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
