Neola Jordan Futrell, 78, of the 200 block of Hawthorne Road, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 1996, in Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Futrell was born in Chowan County. She had formerly worked as a cashier at The Virginian Restaurant, Norfolk, and had retired as a waitress at Smith and Welton's Tea Room. She was the daughter of the late Eley and Mrs. Verna Lane Jordan and the wife of the late Alvy Lee Futrell Sr.
Surviving are two sisters, Leona J. Winslow and her husband, Percy L. Winslow, of Belvidere, and Carrie E. Jordan of Edenton; a brother, Larry M. Jordan and his wife, Joyce Jordan, of Edenton; a sister-in-law, Marie Jordan of Powell's Point; three nieces; seven nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice Jordan and Horace Jordan.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, by the Rev. Eula Harrell. Burial will follow in the Gatesville Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
