Ruth Harris Pugh, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 1996, at the Maryview Convalescent Center, Raleigh, N.C.
She was a homemaker and the daughter of the late Gardner Beverly and Annie Roach Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Harrison Pugh and was a member of the Centerville Baptist Church, Chesapeake, where she taught Sunday School for 25 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Francis Ann Griffin and her husband, Luther, both of Raleigh; her son, Robert E. Pugh and his wife, Denise, both of Chicago; seven granddaughters; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Centerville Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Ron Rowe. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall for a celebration of her life and a luncheon. Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, is handling all arrangements.
