Benjamin Carroll deLamorton, 49, died Sept. 8, 1996, in Taverse City, Mich.
Born in Yukon, Fla., he was a supervisor for Virginia Power. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam and retired from the Naval Reserve. He earned a bachelor's degree from Christopher Newport College. Mr. deLamorton was a member of Yorktown Masonic Lodge (NU)205, former member of Atlantic Masonic Lodge (NU)2, Norfolk Valley Scottish Rite Bodies and the Fleet Reserve.
Survivors include his wife, Marcheta deLamorton; a daughter, Cynthia Mari deLamorton Willard and her husband, Lance C., of Sandston; a son, Daniel Aaron deLamorton and his wife, Jennifer, of Highland Springs, Va.; his mother, Elizabeth Clontz deLamorton of Cleveland, Ohio; his stepmother, Jean D. deLamorton of Norfolk; his father, Howard F. B. deLamorton of Norfolk; his mother-in-law, Mary Frye of Bay City, Mich.; a brother-in-law, Keith Allan Frye of Bay City, Mich.; a sister, Connie B. Lang and her husband, Larry, of Celeveland; two brothers, Oliver Fulton deLamorton and his wife, Linda, of Millers Tavern, Va., and Robert Fredrick deLamorton of Florida; three stepbrothers, Robert Young Jr., Larry Young and Brent Young, all of the local area; three stepsisters, Donna Nessell, Janet Castellano and Loretta Cain, all of the local area; two grandchildren, Taylor Errin deLamorton, Jordan Noelle and DeLamorton. He was predeceased by a brother, Howard R. deLamorton and father-in-law, John T. Frye, U.S. Marine Corps (ret.)
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Fred Braswell. Burial will be in Hampton National Cemetery with military honors.
