Virginia Herbert Nye, 94, died Sept. 16, 1996.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was the widow of Vernon Nye and a member of Park Place United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary N. Dougherty and a son, Vernon B. Nye, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Elizabeth H. Pender of Virginia Beach and Maude H. Conway of Fredericksburg, Va.; two grandchildren, V. Hunter Nye and Richard C. Nye, both of Virginia Beach,; and three great-grandchildren. She is the daughter of the late Edward H. and Maude C. Herbert.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, the Rev. Francis E. Collins presiding. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials can be made to the Park Place United Methodist Church, Norfolk. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is in charge.
