Minnie Williams Humphries Metivier, 88, of the 2300 block of Rodgers St., died Sept. 15, 1996.
Born in Bertie County, N.C., she was a retired waitress for the Virginian Restaurant, Norfolk. She was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, South Norfolk and Women of the Moose, Chapter 947. Mrs. Metivier was predeceased by her husbands, John Bell Humphries and Victor Metivier; two sons, Curtis L. Humphries and James P. Humphries.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda H. McConnell of Chesapeake; three sons, Clifton J. Humphries of Chesapeake, Walter S. Humphries of Danville, Va., and Vance B. Humphries of Lawrenceville, Va.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. Amos Eby. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 6 to 7 p.m. today.
