E. Thomas ``Tommy'' Morris, 88, died Sept. 16, 1996, in Albemarle Hospital.
He was a native of Gates County, N.C., and was the son of the late Walter F. and Beulah Smith Morris and had retired from R.D. Sawyer Motors in Manteo, N.C., after 30 years. He was a member of Coinjock Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hansley Morris; a son, Thomas H. Morris of Kinston, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Jessica Morris of Atlantic Beach, N.C., and Hunter Morris of Biloxi, Miss.
A private graveside service will be conducted in Westlawn Memorial Park. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, by the Rev. C.H. Wellons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and at other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coinjock Baptist Church or to The Children's Home Society of North Carolina, 740 Chestnut St., Greensboro, N.C., or to the charity of one's choice.
