An Elizabeth City man remained in jail Monday after allegedly shooting a man to death during an argument.
Lembert Earl Doyal, 51, of the 200 block of Graves Ave., was charged with first-degree murder in the death of David Lee Razor, 51, of the 100 block of Pinewood Ave.
Police said Razor was at the Oak Grove Avenue home of Kenneth Williams when Doyal called Razor to the street about 2:50 p.m. Sunday.
A brief argument ensued and Doyal allegedly pulled out a .38-caliber gun and shot Razor in the leg and abdomen, said Elizabeth City Police Lt. Joe Tade.
Razor was pronounced dead about an hour later at Albemarle Hospital, Tade said.
Doyal was scheduled to appear in Pasquotank Superior Court this week. He is being held without bond.
